Juniper's Twin Lamps Mod
Walkthrough

Joining the Twin Lamps
***************************************************************
In order to join the Twin Lamps, you first need to know their password.
There are two ways to learn this. First, if you free many slaves (over 20)
you can learn the password by talking to one of them. Second, if you stumble
across the "Tiras Bitterblade under siege" quest below, you can learn the
password there.

You can't actually join the faction unless you've freed 15 slaves. If you
learned the password from Bitterblade, he'll give you hints where to find
enough slaves.

Jarodan's Quests
***************************************************************
You can find Jarodan on the balcony at "Stendarr's Retreat Inn," located
just northeast of Vivec's Foreign Quarter. He is the person who can admit
you to the faction, raise your rank, etc.

A Slave's Life
***************************************************************
Jarodan sends you to Jobasha, another Twin Lamps member who needs you to
convince different booksellers to sell a book titled "A Slave's Life."
Dorisa Darvel in Balmora, across from the fighter's guild will accept it
if you bump her disposition up to around 70. The same goes for Codus Collonus
in Ald'Ruhn, who owns a shop right next to Ald Skar (the big crab).

Rabinna
***************************************************************
Jarodan sends you to Hla Olad to rescue a slave being used as a mule for drugs.
You can find her and her master in the underground portion of Fatleg's Drop Off.
If her disposition is high enough (which is hard, since she won't talk to you)
she will explain her situation once you get her away from Relam Arinth. Once
you bring her to the Argonian Mission in Ebonheart, she's home free.

If you've killed Relam Arinth or Rabinna, Jarodan will simply skip over the
quest, possibly bemoaning Rabinna's death. If you haven't killed Vorar Helas
(Rabinna's intended recipient) Tiras Bitterblade will get on your back.

Tiras Bitterblade Under Siege
***************************************************************
For the next quest you return to the Bitter Coast. Tiras Bitterblade is hiding
in a shack south of Hla Olad. Jarodan asks you to bring him a scroll of divine
intervention. You can either sneak the scroll to him, or just kill all four
of the slavehunters. If you succeed, Bitterblade will move back to the basement
of Stendarr's Retreat.

Like Rabinna, you can stumble across this quest without Jarodan's prompting.

A New Recruit
***************************************************************
Jarodan wants the Twin Lamps to be more vocal, and to do that he needs a new
recruit. He sends you in three different directions; only Sterdecan is helpful
(although the other two are interesting).

Sterdecan will send you to Balur Salvu, a farmer just southeast of Pelagiad.
Balur is normally pretty uptight (i.e. he won't talk to you), but on Sterdecan's
prompting he's willing enough. He won't do anything, but refers you to his
nephew in the cornberry patch, Nagera Salvu. Nagera readily agrees to help out.

Once this quest is complete, Nagera and another recruit will wander around
Balmora and Ald'Ruhn respectively, preaching an end to slavery. Also, a pair
of slavehunters will come looking for you.

A Choice of Strategy
***************************************************************
Jarodan is frustrated with Im-Kilaya (at the Argonian mission) for some reason.
It turns out there's a question as to the strategy of the Twin Lamps. Im-Kilaya
suggests you talk to the parties concerned, and make a decision. Most Twin Lamps
members will have some opinion, but you only need to speak with Im-Kilaya,
Jarodan and Bitterblade to make a decision.

What you choose will determine the path of your next few quests. In the course
of asking around, you'll be pointed to Junal-lai in Pelagiad, who has a story
about Jarodan's background.

The Farmers and Laborers Guild
***************************************************************
If you decide to go with Jarodan's strategy (or if the other strategies reach a
dead end), Jarodan will ask you to convince the Farmer's and Laborer's guild to
take a position against slavery. If you go to the guild, they'll tell you how
Orvas Dren's Camonna Tong has most of the farmers under his sway. They'll send
you to Sterdecan, who will send you out to solve the problem, one farmer at a
time.

Nilera Ieneth, just north of Stendarr's retreat, would take a position against
slavery, except she's being harassed by the orcs from the Gro-Bagrat plantation.
There are a number of ways to solve this problem. You can simply pay off the orcs.
You can kill them. Or, you can report them to the Imperial Legion in Pelagiad
(Piernette will prompt you for that last one).

Piernette Bellule, just across the road from Nilera, will readily join your
cause.

Dirara Drom, farther down that same road will flatly refuse. A matter of
predjudice.

Llovyn Andus and Manat Varnnan-Adda, both near the Dren plantation, have the same
problem. They're afraid. What's more, the person who collects taxes on their farms
is tight with Orvas Dren. But Rovone Arvel actually owns the property (all this
comes out in a House Hlaalu quest). If Rovone Arvel agrees to protect them,
they'll gladly take a position against slavery.

The Arvel Family will tell you, in bits and pieces about some family history
around slavery. Turns out Galyn Arvel decided to take a stand against slavery,
and was kicked out/left as a result of the fallout. Galyn and her sister can be
found in Ald Velothi. If you speak with Galyn's sister, located in the Arvel's
shack, about a position against slavery, she will suggest the possibility of
reconciliation.

Back to the Arvel plantation. If you convince Dredase and Urene Arvel (both
inside the manor) that reconciliation is a good idea (make sure to bump up
their dispositions around 65-70), you can then try and convince Talare Arvel
that reconciliation is a good thing (She's found on the top floor of the manor,
again make sure her disposition is up around 70).

Talare agrees to convince Rovone Arvel, as Serila agreed to convince Galyn.
Galyn will be waiting for you at either Stendarr's Retreat Inn or the docks
near Vivec (depending on whether Stendarr's Inn still functions as a Twin
Lamps base.)

When you finally reach the Arvel Manor, Rovone and Talare will walk out to
greet you. Galyn will step forward to meet them, and Rovone will thank you.
Make sure to ask about their position against slavery, and protection for
Llovyn Andus and Manat Varnnan-Adda.

With all that complete, you can return to Sterdecan, who sends you back to
the Farmer's guild.

Miners and Tanners Guild
This one's a little simpler. On the strength of the Farmer's and Laborers
Guilds stand, the Miners and Tanners are just about ready to do the same.
However, they need to communicate with the local mine leaders before doing
anything. This quest falls upon Noldrosi Bedas, not you. Once the guild agrees
to help out, she'll be gone for five days. Upon her return, the miner's guild
gives its official support.

When the miners give their support, Jarodan will send you to Im-Kilaya for
any further quests.

Tiras Bitterblade's Quests
***************************************************************

Raid on a Slave Ship
***************************************************************
This is really one big quest in three parts. It begins when Bitterblade sends
you to investigate a slave ship in Tel Aruhn. Arriving in Tel Aruhn, you'll
see a ship has indeed sailed in. Upon entering the ship, you'll immediately
be attacked by several Dunmer. Should you try to escape, you'll find the door
has been locked behind you. Once you dispatch them, you'll find another oppenent
waiting on the bottom level. He has both the key to get out and a note from
someone named "Marcion." Apparently, the whole thing was a trap.

When you bring the note back to Bitterblade, he'll explain that falling for
the trap was only one instance of security falling apart since a mysterious
bounty hunter began targeting the Twin Lamps. He suggests finding "Marcion"
may be a clue leading to this bounty hunter.

Finding "Marcion"
***************************************************************
Bitterblade sends you to Galyn Arvel and Sterdecan to find any leads on Marcion.
Sterdecan tells you to ask around Suran, starting with a Twin Lamps operative
at The House of Earthly Delights.

Turns out the proprietor, Helvaine Desale, is a friend of the Twin Lamps.
She'll tell you she's heard the name, but it's actually a codename for someone
else. Who that someone else is, she doesn't know. She advises you to keep your
eyes open.

If you've resolved the Hides-His-Eyes quest by helping out the Argonian, he'll
tell you even more. Apparently, Marcion would meet with his former master
late at night.

If you happen to be snooping around Suran late at night, you may stumble
across a couple of folks acting very suspicious. One of them is Tholdrun Oran.

If you've learned that Marcion is a codename, and have spotted him sneaking
around at night, Tholdrun Oran will confess that he uses the name Marcion
from time to time. If you show him the letter you found, he'll confess to
writing it, but nothing more.

At this point you have several options. In Oran's chest there is a document
which points to the location of the bounty hunter. You can kill him and take
it, or steal it. If you take your findings to Bitterblade, he'll tell you
that Oran ran to the bounty hunter after you confronted him - and was tailed
by a Twin Lamps agent.

The Bounty Hunter
***************************************************************
At this point you know where the bounty hunter is, it's a simple matter of
finding and killing him. He's at Fatleg's Camp, a secret Camonna Tong base
northwest of Gnaar Mok. If you go to Galyn Arvel, she'll provide transport
to the Fatleg's Camp, although she doesn't stay long - you're on your own
getting back.

The bounty hunter, Vertimus Aefrit, can ben found in the basement of the
Kingpin's shack. He's not even that tough in a fight, although he has some
interesting things to say...including a proposition.

If you look around, you'll find his notes on the Twin Lamps. Reading them,
you'll discover that there's a spy in the organization. If you bring this
information to Bitterblade, he'll settle the matter personally.

A Slave Revolt
***************************************************************
If you haven't already completed this quest (you can also get it from Theranna),
Bitterblade will send you to investigate the Abebaal slave revolt. The entrance
is on the northern end of the island directly north of Tel Branora's docks.
The slaves inside will direct you to their leader Eleedal-lei. You can choose to
help the slaves or try to stop them. One option is finding the key to their
slave bracers. Keys can be found on several of the guards outside Tel Branora,
on a table inside Tel Branora, or on Theranna herself.

However, if you let them know you're from the Twin Lamps, you have the option of
going to get the key together. All of the rebellious slaves will follow you.
However, you won't have far to go: Mollimo and another guard have made their
way to the island and are waiting to attack you. Take the key from them, free
Eleedal-lei, and go on your way.

Caldera Slave Revolt
***************************************************************
This quest won't be available until you've gone through Jarodan's "strategy"
dilemma, and chosen Bitterblade's strategy. He'll ask you to incite a slave
uprising in the Caldera mines. If you've already freed the slave Dahleena
(who is also factor in a House Redoran quest), the quest won't even be
available.

If you talk to the slaves in the Caldera mines, you'll learn that they look to a
Khajit named Dhaleena as their leader. You can find her locked in one of the
Slave Shacks. If you raise her disposition to around 70 and ask about "uprising,"
she'll agree to lead the slaves in a revolt. However, she asks that you first tell
Khazura in the mines to spread the word. Khazura won't believe you unless her
disposition is up to 60. Once the slaves are prepared, return to Dahleena and she
will follow you to the mines.

Once inside the mines, the quest is technically done, but you may want to
stay around to help out. The guards all attack you, and they're pretty
tough, so you may have to finish them off first. The other slaves should
be doing all right, except Inorra in the far back of the mine, who is
outnumbered by two Dunmer miners with picks. You can take a key from the
mineboss to free Dahleena and the others.

You also can end the quest by simply freeing Dahleena before any uprising
starts. What fun is that, though?

Another Slave Revolt
***************************************************************
When you get back to Bitterblade, whether you've been successful or not, he'll
tell you that other slaves have gotten the idea to fight back as well, and have
overpowered the crew of a slave ship. You can find the shipwreck just south of
the Netch farm to the southeast of Vivec's Telvanni canton.

The slaves will direct you to their leader, Zeerul-dai, who will explain that
the lone survivor, Ranas, has locked himself inside the ship with the key to
their slave bracers. If you talk to him, he promises some valuable information
if you let him escape. Of course, you can kill him and take the key, but if
you want to find out what he knows, you'll have to convince the slaves not to
attack him on sight. If you raise Zeerul-Dai's disposition to 60, she'll agree
to allow him to escape.

Of course, when you leave, the slaves attack him anyway. If you talk to
Zeerul-Dai, she'll agree to hold back her followers, if that's what you
really want. Ranas will follow you to Ebonheart, where he lets you know
his true feelings and gives you absolutely no useful information whatsoever.

House Dres Retaliation
***************************************************************
When you return to Stendarr's Retreat, you'll find many things have changed.
House Dres has taken revenge for the slave ship uprising, and has seized
control of the building. Inside, the leader will ask you about the whereabouts
of Jarodan. Apparently, he managed to escape the attack and is now a wanted
fugitive.

Other Twin Lamps members have varying degrees of information. Ilmeni Dren
will tell you that Jarodan hid in her apartment until Galyn Arvel was able
to smuggle him up to Ald Velothi. You'll find him waiting there. If you want,
you can do the quests following his strategy, but you'll have to find Sterdecan
to get very far. Sterdecan's farm has been occupied, but you will find him
hiding in Junal-lei's basement in Pelagiad.

One other repercussion you'll find is that Twin Lamps members will be decidedly
unpopular for a while with several factions.

Im-Kilaya's Quests
***************************************************************

Recruit House Hlaalu
***************************************************************
You can start on this either by choosing Im-Kilaya's strategy, or finishing all
of Jarodan's quests. In either case, he asks you to start by securing the support
of House Hlaalu through Duke Vedam Dren. If you haven't gotten the support of the
farmers and laborers guild and miners and tanners guild, Dren will be
unresponsive. Im-Kilaya will ask you to try again, but you'll find no more success.
Frustrated, Im-Kilaya will send you back to Jarodan.

If you have finished Jarodan's quests, Dren will gladly agree to your proposal.
Simple as that.

House Redoran Attacks
***************************************************************
When you return to Im-Kilaya, he'll inform you that not only has house Redoran
thrown their lot in with the abolitionists, they've sent a raiding party against
the Tel Aruhn slave market. Im-Kilaya asks you to scout out the results.

When you arrive in Tel Aruhn, you'll find that the tail end of the battle still
rages, and House Redoran (and friends) are losing badly. You can help them or not,
it's up to you - but you may notice a familiar face or two among the defenders.
Depending on your actions up to this point, Dahleena and/or Bitterblade will have
joined the raiding party.

Approaching the Temple
***************************************************************
In order to get a majority of the council, Im-Kilaya asks you to approach the
Tribunal Temple (which is joined at the hip to House Indoril). Although they
have not been friendly to the abolitionists in the past, they're a more likely
ally than House Telvanni or House Dres.

Well, talking to Saryoni earns you nothing but a sharp rebuke. And this would
normally be the end of the story, ending in failure. Much more, it seems, will
have to happen before Morrowind is ready to end legal slavery.

However, there is a way to achieve your goal, hinted at in Jarodan's book "The
Politics of Slavery." If you can convince Vivec himself to get involved, the
Temple will reluctantly follow suit (at least the parts of the Temple under his
sway). If you've become the Nerevarine, Vivec will agree to "trust your judgement."

Slavery Ends in Vvardenfell?
***************************************************************
After you secure the Temple's support, Im-Kilaya will inform you that the Great
Council is meeting to discuss the proposal. For several days, the council
representatives and the Duke will be gone. Upon their return, Im-Kilaya will let
the word be known - slavery has ended.

Except House Telvanni refuses to cooperate. While the slave markets in Suran and
Molag Mar will be abandoned, those in Tel Aruhn and Sadrith Mora will change
little - except for the presence of more guards. You will hear rumors of increased
tensions, uncertainty, possible war

Ilmeni Dren's Quests
***************************************************************

Dodge the Slavehunters
***************************************************************
Ilmeni Dren has two quests she'll give you if you ask about slavery (and know the
Twin Lamps password). First, she'll send you to Galyn Arvel in Ald Velothi. Galyn
will let you know that slavehunters are in the area looking for a runaway slave
named J'Saddha. He is currently hiding in the nearby Daedric ruins.

You'll find J'Saddha up a short staircase, in a corner. He'll agree to follow you
to back to Galyn. If any of the slavehunters see you while you're sneaking around,
they'll attack. When you reach Galyn, J'Saddha attaches himself to her, now safe.
Return to Ilmeni Dren to report your success.

Fight for Freedom
***************************************************************
Next, Ilmeni Dren asks you to free a slave on the Dren Plantation named
hides-his-foot. You'll need to take him to Sterdecan's farm, but in the process
you're likely to run into some trouble from Dren's guards. In fact, this can
quickly become a "liberate the Dren plantation" quest. It's definitely easier to
take out the guards first, then have him follow you.

When you reach safety, Hides-his-foot will let you know of a piece of evidence
hidden in Orvas Dren's basement. It can be quite useful in the main quest, to obtain
Orvas Dren's support.

Random Quests
***************************************************************
You won't be directed to these quests by anyone, but you can stumble across them
in your travels.

Deceit
On the road from Suran to Sterdecan's farm, you'll meet a slave who claims to
need an escort to Sterdecan's farm, where he can find sanctuary. But upon arrival,
you discover he is actually an assassin sent to kill Sterdecan. You must quickly
decide whom to side with.

A Looooong Road
***************************************************************
A note on the table of the Twin Lamps hideout hints at this quest.

In the ashlands west of the Erebensrum ashlader camp, you'll find a lone slave.
Apparently he escaped from the Tel Aruhn slave market and is trying to make his way
back to the Argonian mission in Ebonheart. There's no short way to get back there,
but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you've walked miles to bring this slave
to safety.

Arena of Death
***************************************************************
Another note at the Twin Lamps hideout can lead you here.

In the stronghold south of Dagon Fell, you'll find an arena where slaves are
forced to fight monsters for sport. One of the slaves, whom seems slightly unstable,
claims to be a magician who just needs a scroll of divine intervention to escape.
Bring one to her, and she does just that.

One of those standing around the arena possesses one of the legendary artifacts
in Morrowind, the Frost Blade of the Monarch, a very powerful sword.
